Remember when Jinder Mahal was WWE Champion? It only feels like yesterday that the Modern Day Maharaja was sucking the life out of fans for an entire season, but it was in fact three whole years ago. Mahal was been Captain Incognito in the years since, succumbing to injury more often than not.

Mahal's reign was a sh*tshow, providing a conveyer belt of bad main events from which any could be chosen for this list, but the magic ingredient of Baron Corbin is enough to push this particular turtlehead out just far enough to stand out. Big Match John was also involved, a veteran of bad main events, creating a perfect storm of suck for those lucky enough to last the entirety of the August 15, 2017 broadcast.

Cena and Mahal struggled to get on the same page and the match lumbered from one awkward spot to the other, and not even the heroic self-sacrifice of the Singh Brothers could save it. As befitting a veteran of the suck game, Baron Corbin waited for just the right time to run out and up the ante, cashing in his Money in the Bank briefcase before being distracted by the shiny penny that is John Cena. Jinder rolled him up and the rest was history.

Thankfully.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
