10 Worst WWE Summerslam Matches Ever

5. Summerslam 1998 - The Oddities vs. Kaientai

For newer fans who have no idea who these two teams are, consider yourself lucky and unlucky, depending on which team you were talking about. The Oddities were a useless group of misfits that used the Insane Clown Posse as entrance music (that should tell you a lot right there) and were made up of Kurrgan, the Giant Silva, Golga (John Tenta aka Earthquake), and Luna Vachon. All of the members were completely useless in the ring and seemed to only exist to get the crowd to wave their arms and capitalize on South Park's popularity. You see, Golga was obsessed with Eric Cartman so he would carry around South Park merchandise with him wherever he went. This was probably an attempt by Vince Russo to make Golga seem "cool" but it was just kind of weird. Kaientai was made up of Taka Michinoku, Funaki, and Dick Togo and they were actually pretty good heels in Japan and ECW before this. They were also completely awesome in the ring, flying around with innovative offense and great crowd interaction. Unfortunately, they were stuck in opening matches for the majority of their WWF career and were put into the ring with slugs like the Oddities. To understand what kind of match this was, as soon as it started Jim Ross stated "we didn't promise a classic" which is his politically correct way of saying he knows a match sucks. The comedy match featured a human tug-of-war and the entire Kaientai team bumping like crazy off of the big goofs on the babyface side. Silva looked totally out of place because of how green he was and the entire match was almost embarrassing.
