10 Worst WWE SummerSlam Posters
3. SummerSlam 2004
Quick quiz - without going to Wikipedia, how many matches from SummerSlam 2004 can you name? If you got any of them, congratulations - you win. For the rest of us, though, don't worry - WWE's poster design clearly shows the company wasn't banking on anyone taking too much away from the show.
Instead, the company tried to piggyback on a sporting event that people actually did care about - the 2004 Summer Olympics. Instead of featuring any of the show's bouts (I really want to say Eddie Guerrero versus... JBL?), the poster focused on the slogan "Let the Games Begin" and had six smaller pictures featuring visual puns based on Olympic events - like a steel cage match under "Fencing."
They weren't all so witty, though - Batista whipping out a double clothesline for "Parallel Bars" and someone going through a table for "Table Tennis" kind of only work if you do the mental equivalent of some severe squinting. All in all, the poster is hard to read, and unrewarding if you actually do manage to read it.
