10 Worst WWE Superstars To Ever Wrestle In The Elimination Chamber
9. Hardcore Holly (December To Dismember 2006)
Bob Holly, most well-known as Hardcore Holly, will always be a well-respected man in the wrestling business. A sixteen year veteran of WWE, he made his debut in 1994 and was an important part of the mid-card scene during the vaunted Attitude Era. During his tenure, he won the Hardcore title six times and the Tag Team Championship three times (with three different partners).
Hardcore Holly's appearance inside the Elimination Chamber was at the ill-fated December To Dismember PPV in 2006, the only ECW brand specific PPV that WWE ever held. It performed disastrously, with only 4800 fans in attendance and a scant 90,000 PPV buys, which was the lowest buyrate in WWE history at the time.
The Chamber match that night featured CM Punk, Big Show, Rob Van Dam and Bobby Lashley, so it wasn't exactly short of star-power. Sadly, Paul Heyman and Vince McMahon reportedly clashed extensively over the direction of the match, with Heyman insisting that McMahon's desire to crown Lashley champion instead of CM Punk was a mistake.
Hardcore Holly wasn't even initially scheduled to compete in the match. He replaced ECW original Sabu at the last minute, which was another bone of contention between Heyman and McMahon and a move that was met with disgust from the ECW fans in the arena.
However, Holly wasn't the only competitor who probably shouldn't have been in the match, and this awful PPV will be returned to later in the list.
