10 Worst WWE Survivor Series EVER - According To Dave Meltzer

Bret Hart's never been the luckiest.

The poor b*stard entered in an creditable display in his choice WWE Title match with Bob Backlund, but it was lost in the middle of an uneven pay-per-view that unfortunately indulged in the worst vestiges of Vince McMahon's mid-1990s cartoonish leanings.

Ever the professional, Bret somehow managed to sell the intense pain of an ice age spent in Backlund's brutal Crossface Chicken Wing whilst mother Helen Hart dithered over throwing in the towel at the behest of his rotten brother Owen. It was lush sports entertainment drama, but Meltzer's ** rating ruthlessly derides the inaction in the final third.

Following a red hot opener that saw the demise of Shawn Michaels and Diesel's relationship in preparation for their own WrestleMania title match build, the card either side of Backlund/Bret was a Day-Glo disaster.

Jerry Lawler and Doink's comedy bout featuring miniature doppelgängers of themselves reached Sid-levels of drizzling sh*t. Lex Luger was again just a flexing loser in his latest failure against Ted Dibiase's corporate crew, whilst the Undertaker's casket clash with Yokozuna was only marginally less stupider than their Royal Rumble disaster-piece earlier that year. Attempting to interfere, Jeff Jarrett took an almighty kick from ringside enforcer Chuck Norris. 'Double J' really can survive anything the wrestling business throws at him.
