Odd couples winning the Tag Team Titles is nothing new in WWE. Think back to the intro to this piece, where it was noted that The Undertaker and The Rock shared success for a short period in the year 2000. Other notable and unlikely champions include Shawn Michaels and Steve Austin, as well as the team of John Cena and Batista.

That wouldn't be John's last.

There's one thing that ties all those above names together: they were all top stars. David Otunga could never be accused of such, and was in fact only part of the Tag Title equation with Cena because he also happened to be a member of The Nexus faction John was forced to align with in October, 2010.

24 hours after WWE stupidly took the titles of a potentially great team like Drew McIntyre and Cody Rhodes to further some Nexus guff that peaked at SummerSlam, Cena and Otunga lost the belts. They did so to other members of Nexus, but this was dreadful.
