10 Worst WWE Title Challengers
9. Shannon Moore
In a cumulative six-year WWE career, Shannon Moore never
managed to capture a major title.
Billed at 176lbs, he spent much of his time competing in the old Cruiserweight division. However, despite his size, he still managed to challenge for the WWE Championship, and on two separate occasions as well.
The most recent instance arrived on a SmackDown taping in December 2004, when Moore was hand-picked to face WWE Champion JBL. Predictably, the champ got the win in 18 seconds.
Twelve months prior to that, Moore had again found
himself in a similar situation. This time he was selected for the spot “at random" via
a tumbler, before then-champion Brock Lesnar made rather short work of him.
Admittedly, Moore had picked up a shock win over A-Train on the previous week’s show, although that still wasn’t quite enough to make him WWE Title challenger material.
Incidentally, Moore had faced Lesnar exactly 52 weeks prior in another one-sided affair. And though there was no title on the line that time, it does appear that feeding Shannon Moore to the monster heel is some sort of SmackDown Christmas tradition.
