10 Worst WWE Title Reigns Ever

Mercifully some were shorter than others...

When it comes to WWE propelling someone to the top of their company, it's not always rainbows and butterflies. Sure, we get some great stories, and see some incredible title reigns that live on in the annals of wrestling lore. On the other hand, though, we get title reigns that are awful for one reason or another. Maybe it was someone that most people didn't feel "deserved" to be the champion. Maybe it was someone who won the title, and then dropped it only a few short weeks later. Maybe it was someone who won the title, and then proceeded to lose several non-title matches, or was made to look like a complete fool, before they eventually dropped it. Whatever the reason is, their reign just wasn't a success. For this particular topic, we'll be avoiding the reigns where someone lost their title to a Money In The Bank cash-in mere minutes after winning the belt, as well as avoiding the inclusion of people who had to drop their title right away due to real-life injuries, and not to anything in a storyline. Trying to stay away from a lot of Attitude Era reigns is also important, as titles would often change hands multiple times in a month or so back then. Now, without further ado, it's time to take a look at some not-so-great wrestling history.

10. Daniel Bryan's Most Recent WWE Title Reign

- Won Title on April 6th, 2014 - Dropped Title on June 9th, 2014 - One successful defense It won't be the most popular decision to include him here, but it's a necessary evil. The stated criteria was that reigns where someone dropped the title due to a real-life injury if it happened right away wouldn't be included. "Right away" is the key there. Bryan made it a month (of in-ring work, and two months total), so he made the cut for this article. He's actually on the list because of the bad luck that has seemingly encapsulated his entire reign. Not only did he have to drop the title due to a nagging neck injury that has apparently been healing slower than anyone expected, but his father passed away, and so did his little buddy, Connor "The Crusher" Michalek. If you're someone who is anti-marriage, you could even count his wedding to WWE Diva Brie Bella here, as well. It just seems like one thing after another for the guy, and now, all we can hope is that he recovers nicely and can return to the ring sooner than later, to entertain the WWE Universe like nobody else can.
