- Won Title on June 11th, 2006 - Dropped Title on July 3rd, 2006 - One successful defense When you've been reaching for the top spot in your profession for years, scratching and clawing the entire way, and being told that you shouldn't ever get it, it tends to make you fight harder. When you finally reach the top, shouldn't you do everything in your power to make sure you stay there? Rob Van Dam was pulled over for speeding and was arrested for drug possession, having marijuana and Vicodin on his possession in the car. Sabu was also arrested for having drugs in that car, and he was punished, too, but he was nowhere near being on the same level as RVD was in WWE management's eyes. RVD had not only just won the WWE Title, but with WWE resurrecting the ECW brand, he was also given the new ECW Title, as well. He was given the biggest push of his entire career, and he blew it by getting arrested. The company had to suspend him for 30 days, but he had to drop both titles first, ending his reigns pretty much before they even got started. He has never been back to the top of the mountain. Moron.
