WWE fans (and wrestling enthusiasts in general) should be thankful that the company now seem to harness different ideas over what a top star should be like. The likes of Seth Rollins, Kevin Owens and even Roman Reigns are a million times more exciting than Orlando Jordan ever was. Nonetheless, the promotion once harboured ambitions than Jordan could be morphed into a main event player.

Introduced in 2003, Orlando was even endorsed on screen by no less a legend than The Undertaker. Months later, he'd turn heel and align with JBL, forming part of Layfield's heel stable, The Cabinet. WWE were still high on Jordan when they handed him the United States Title in March 2005. Incredibly, he beat John Cena to win the title.

Jordan held the belt until August, but proceeded to do very little of note whilst champion. WWE seemed to realise that his future was limited when they booked Chris Benoit to squash him at SummerSlam. The match was the opening scrap for the pay-per-view, and was all over in around 25 seconds. Orlando Jordan's title run was lengthy, but it was also fairly mundane.
