10 Worst WWE WrestleMania Debuts Ever
3. Big Show (WrestleMania XV)
The ooh-ing and aah-ing that accompanied Paul Wight's debut at St. Valentine's Day Massacre in 1999 signified that WWE had stolen a march on WCW and nabbed one of their biggest stars. One month later, the rebranded Big Show lost a short match by disqualification to Mankind and felt like just another member of the roster.
Bold claims coming from camp McMahon that WCW didn't know how to book someone of Show's stature (like they had Andre the Giant) were nullified by their own treatment of the monster. Within weeks, Show was removed from his killer heel position and turned into another enemy of Vince.
That shouldn't have happened. Show needed to be McMahon's latest weapon in his never-ending war against Steve Austin, just as he had been in February.
Big Show's first match at WrestleMania was rather lacklustre overall. Not only did it fail to present the newcomer as a serious threat to everyone in the company, it also seemed lost amidst an over-stacked mid-card glut of matches.
