8. Kurt Angle Vs. Rey Mysterio Vs. Randy Orton (WrestleMania 22)
WWE didn't have to swipe at the low-hanging fruit, but they just couldn't help themselves. Mysterio surviving 62 minutes in his Royal Rumble win netted him a title match, and it was obvious that Mysterio was going to try and dethrone Kurt Angle in the memory of recently-departed best friend Eddie Guerrero. A match waged on mutual respect with Mysterio winning cleanly could have been inspiring. Instead, Orton was shoehorned into the match, after desecrating Guerrero's name. He then defeated Mysterio at No Way Out to win the WrestleMania title shot, but Mysterio was re-inserted anyway. At times, it seemed as though Mysterio was simply playing the role of Guerrero, and it was a tinge uncomfortable. For his part, Angle barely factored into the story. One of the most muddled and hazily-concocted storylines (not just WrestleMania-wise) put a deceased wrestler above all of the living participants.
