10. Daniel Bryan Vs Brock Lesnar

Admittedly, this particular rumour has gone ice cold now, primarily due to Daniel Bryan€™s unfortunate injuries this year but also because, well, everything€™s gone cold now regarding the invisible champ, Brock Lesnar. Following WrestleMania XXX, this was a heavily discussed main event for the following year as these were the two biggest stories coming from the PPV, the end of the streak and the rise of the beard. Due to neck surgery earlier this year, Daniel Bryan€™s momentum has been derailed but, as witnessed on RAW and Smackdown last week, the fans still love the true €˜people€™s champ€™. Although Lesnar is probably heading towards a rather different (currently injured) WWE superstar (more on that later) there is still a lot of mileage in this story if the stars align and the strength comes back to Daniel€™s shoulder in time. Lesnar€™s story is similar to his time in 2003/2004 where he is destroying big names (and Hardcore Holly) before finding a little hero standing in his way. Back then it was Eddie Guerrero, this time it could potentially be Daniel Bryan. Recently, Brock has decimated John Cena, Big Show and The Undertaker. Big men, big names. The man who beats the man who is the €˜1 in 21 and 1€™ will be set for life. Defeating the monstrous Undertaker and embarrassing Cena is one thing, taking your eye off the ball because a man almost half your size stands before you is another. This would be a David and Goliath match which would basically see Daniel Bryan€™s heart win out over Brock Lesnar€™s size and power. Coming off the back of both No Way Out 2004 and WrestleMania XXX, this could be the most heart-warming and €˜over€™ match in years and would cement Daniel Bryan€™s position in the company.
