10 WrestleMania 31 Matches Seriously Being Discussed Right Now

8. The Rock Vs Brock Lesnar

It€™s at this point on the list where we€™ll start seeing the same names cropping up but with different opponents. It€™s the way it works at this time of year though. Moving the jigsaw pieces around until the biggest and best picture is made and, nearly two years ago, this was the marquee match for the ages. A lot has happened since Rocky lifted Cena€™s hand at WrestleMania 29 however. Firstly, Rock got injured in that headline match and walked away from the WWE. Secondly, yes, Lesnar has taken the title and gone home. Also, both wrestlers appear to be heading in different directions. The Rock has a number of huge production companies that would rather their Hollywood star didn€™t rip his tendons €˜playing€™ in the WWE. Also, since ending the streak, Lesnar has become the most dominant PPV star in the company. Interestingly, on top of this, The Rock made a surprise return a few weeks ago, embarrassed Rusev and interacted with Triple H. No mention of The Beast. This story does have legs though. Lesnar defeated Rocky for the Undisputed WWE Championship at SummerSlam 2002 and The Rock never really got his revenge. The match was a classic (primarily for Vince€™s shirt) and seeing the two lock-up again would be great €“ the Hollywood Star versus the PPV star. Times change though. Lesnar€™s style is considerably more physical now since his return from the Octagon and, as The Rock discovered, moving around that WWE ring takes a bit more puff than it used to. Also, for this match to really work, you couldn€™t have two part-timers fighting for the title so Lesnar would have to drop it before the big one which would take away the lustre of beating the man who ended the streak. Either way though, a re-match between the two would be a memorable battle.
