10 WrestleMania 31 Matches Seriously Being Discussed Right Now

6. Hulk Hogan Vs John Cena

A match that didn€™t quite make it onto this list was John Cena v Rusev. It€™s perhaps more realistic than this one, Cena€™s bout with Bray Wyatt this year shows he€™s not above working with the upper-mid-card, but it€™s this match which would carry the money. Granted, the main person discussing it right now is Hulk Hogan himself but, still, would Cena pass on the chance to fight his hero? God knows how they€™d even begin to book this one. Cena would have to go over. Hell, if Rocky beat Hogan twelve years ago, are we really supposed to expect the Hulkster to beat the franchise? Also, Hogan€™s injuries and, with the greatest respect, age, do play into this being a dud of a match which even Cena couldn€™t save but... What if, just what if, WWE Creative actually looked to €˜old€™ George Foreman and Rocky Balboa taking on Mason €˜The Line€™ Dixon and tried to tell a story of age defeating expectation? Cena doesn€™t have to turn heel at all, he could just play down Hogan€™s chances (too old, past his prime) and constantly refuse the match. Hogan would eventually press the right buttons and then, it€™s on but, well, Hogan€™s a realist (perhaps not in real life, but certainly for this story) and simply wants one final WrestleMania moment, to go the distance as it were. If anything, it could play out like a slower version of Ric Flair v Shawn Michaels with Cena not wanting to retire his hero. If the two go into the match as best friends, there is nothing to gain for either man. Go into it as a once in a lifetime chance for redemption and it might just win the fans over.
