3. WrestleMania XXV - Triple H Vs. Randy Orton Upstaged By Shawn Michaels Vs. The Undertaker
You again? Poor Hunter. Triple H himself, when presenting the Match of the Year to Shawn vs. Undertaker at the 2009 Slammy Awards, said, I had to follow it, and I didn't stand a chance. It was the understatement of the year. Shawn Michaels and Undertaker had not only one of the greatest matches in WrestleMania history, but perhaps in WWE history as well. As far as Undertakers streak goes, it was never in more danger of being broken than in the match against HBK at WrestleMania XXV. Much like Rock vs. Hogan, the crowd was spent afterward, and the Triple H vs. Randy Orton match (which had a horrible, nonsensical build) was met mostly with crickets. The WWE rightly got the hint, and made the HBK/Taker rematch (which was streak vs. career) close out the show at WrestleMania XXVI, the first time since WrestleMania XI that a WWE or World Title match didnt close the show.
