10 WrestleMania Matches We’re Still Waiting To See
3. Shinsuke Nakamura Vs. Somebody… Anybody
You could rattle off a list as long as your arm when it comes to dream opponents for Shinsuke Nakamura at WrestleMania. Whether it be Finn Bálor, Seth Rollins, AJ Styles, Brock Lesnar, or even The Undertaker, finding the right person to pair with 'the King of Strong Style' isn’t the issue here: it’s getting him out of NXT that’s the real problem.
Having signed with the company in January of last year, Nakamura was sent to developmental, even though he was arguably one of the most developed wrestlers on the entire planet at the time.
Maybe WWE has a different definition of the word development. Either way, having Nakamura wait in the wings so long has since seen him turn 37 years old. Add in the fact that he’s already got 15 years of wear and tear under his belt—some of which saw him compete in MMA action—and time doesn’t look to be on Nakamura’s side.
As possibly the most charismatic and adept performer in the entire company, if not the world, it would be completely absurd if Nakamura never made it to WrestleMania. At this point, we’ll take anything—just as long as he gets at least one ‘Mania match.
