It says very little for The Miz vs. John Cena main event of WrestleMania XXVII that it relied heavily on The Rock's involvement just to get through proceedings. Fans looked pretty !*$% bored during the match, only becoming a little more interested when Rocky made his way out and interfered at the finish.

By contrast, Edge and Alberto Del Rio delivered a workmanlike performance in the opening match. It would later become clear that Adam Copeland was in a lot of pain during his final run in WWE and shortly after 'Mania he'd be forced to retire from the ring, informed by doctors that he'd be risking his life if he kept wrestling.

WrestleMania XXVII would therefore be his last major performance as a wrestler in WWE.

It wasn't quite the sterling scrap he may have hoped to go out with, but it made The Miz vs. Cena look poor when going on last.

Defending the World Heavyweight Championship against his Mexican foe, Edge and Del Rio had a nice 11-minute encounter that warmed fans up nicely.
