10 WrestleMania Secrets You Need To Know About

7. WrestleMania XXIV Goes Up In Flames

WrestleMania XXIV is remembered fondly by fans for featuring one of the best matches in The Undertaker€™s streak vs Edge, the appearance of Floyd €œMoney€ Mayweather who challenged The Big Show, and the legendary retirement match of €œThe Nature Boy€ Ric Flair v Shawn Michaels. One incident that isn€™t often remembered, but is just as noteworthy, is the disastrous pyrotechnics accident that occurred after the main event. During The Undertaker€™s victory celebration, as fireworks thundered throughout the stadium, a cable from the pyrotechnics set-up snapped and accidentally flew into in the upper seating are of the Citrus Bowl. The cable that snapped was unfortunately carrying some of the fireworks, and accidentally shot them straight into the seats of fans, injuring forty-five people in the process. While most injured parties only suffered minor abrasions and were sent home that day, more than a few audience members were hospitalised for their burns. WWE announced they were launching a full investigation into how this happened, and while no results were ever published, it€™s believed that WWE placed the blame on the Citrus Bowl€™s technicians and settled any lawsuits out of court.
