10 Wrestler Deaths WWE Ignored
3. Test
WWE had really high hopes for Test, and while they never panned out, the man was on the roster for years, sometimes in a high-profile role. Considering all the screen time and pay-per-view matches he’d received during his tenure you would have expected the company to air a video package on him...or at least put some text on the screen? Or, how about an announcer mentioning the news? Nope. Test got nothing. He didn't pass their test for what constitutes a memorial. It was odd, as he seemed to have plenty of credentials.
Test was involved in an incredibly memorable angle where he was set to marry Stephanie McMahon. This happened during the peak of the company’s viewership, so millions of people watched it all play out. When he got the shaft from creative, he remained a mainstay for years by picking up work in T & A, teaming up with Scott Steiner and serving as an enforcer in the UnAmericans. The man held quite a few titles over the course of his career, and after being released in 2004, he came back in 2006 as a big player in the newly resurrected ECW.
The problem was that the man’s physique looked cartoonish upon his return. He was a walking red flag. Still, WWE employed him knowing that look couldn’t have been natural. Then they let him go when he inevitably failed a Wellness Policy test. When he passed away at the age of 33 they wasted no time in distancing themselves from him by not acknowledging his role in the company for years.
Test had 160 televised matches on Raw, 84 matches on SmackDown and 35 pay-per-view bouts. Somehow that wasn’t enough to even earn him an “R.I.P.” photo.
