Wherever one went, the other was bound to follow, so Killer Kross and Scarlett Bordeaux should be considered a package deal.

Both Bordeaux and Kross reportedly requested their release from IMPACT in May but didn't become free agents until June and December, respectively. During that time, both appeared at multiple Starrcast conventions (held the same weekend as AEW events) and were in attendance for Double or Nothing, so it certainly looked like they were headed to AEW.

However, nothing was reported following Kross' official release late last year regarding AEW approaching him about a deal. They dropped the ball on signing Scarlett, and once WWE scooped her up in November, Kross' future was crystal clear.

By January, Dave Meltzer made it clear that all signs pointed to him signing with WWE, and sure enough, the company made it official on WWE Backstage last week. With Triple H apparently being as high on Kross as he is, he should be booked to be a big star in NXT, but it's still surprising that AEW didn't make more of a play for him given his untapped potential.

Perhaps AEW was already content with their recent acquisition of Japanese death match legend Luther and felt they didn't need to add anyone else to their ranks.
