10 Wrestlers AEW MUST Sign Next

9. Matt Cross

As it stands, Matt Cross isn't currently under a contract, or at least it's not been formally confirmed by either party. The odd appearance for Major League Wrestling and the National Wrestling Alliance aside, the former Son Of Havoc is seemingly a free agent.

Imagine being a pro wrestling promoter, going through the list of free agents, and not contacting Matt Cross with regards to a full-time deal. It's mind-boggling material when you watch just one Matt Cross match.

Cross isn't your average cruiserweight. Yes, he'd be relegated to 205 Live if he were to sign with WWE, and yes, he does wrestle that style, but there's more to the bearded flyer than meets the eye. He seamlessly moves around the ring with such grace that, often, it's like watching a ballet routine as opposed to a pro wrestling match. His Space Flying Tiger Drop, a flip that Matt was executing with such precision in the mid-2000s in a time when indie wrestling was nowhere near as hot as it would soon be, is sufficient evidence of this. It's an elegant demonstration of the art of cruiserweight wrestling.

In AEW, the ex-Lucha Underground star would thrive against a Jungle Boy or a Dante Martin. He'll never be World Championship material when compared to your Kenny Omegas and Adam Pages, but he wonderfully fits the company's ethos nonetheless.
