Pedantically, it could be argued that the incredible Monday Night Raw winning streak that first began in 1999 for WWE hasn't yet ceased. The same pedants would likely be the first to say they've been cursed for just as long too.

Raw was, at its 2000 peak, a scintillating powerhouse of a pro wrestling show, delivering dense storylines and absorbing, high quality matches. In terms of pro wrestling output, the company hadn't ever had such an embarrassment of riches - the performers were simpatico with a creative team operating at an elite level.

Ignoring the awkward and challenging external forces at play that brought WCW to its knees, Raw was way, way too good for the shared audience to choose TNT on Monday Nights, but as the option disappeared, so too did the audience. Rarely since 2001 have ratings trended upwards for more than the odd month at a time, with the decline getting steeper in recent years thanks to potential viewers abandoning television completely.
