10 Wrestlers Cursed By Their Undefeated Streaks

CM Punk's 434-day reign as WWE Champion had to end in glorious fashion one day, but did WWE actually reach that when he lost to The Rock in a match greater in planning than execution?

'The Voice Of The Voiceless' foreshadowed a full heel turn when he decked 'The Great One' months earlier, transforming his tenure as champion in the process, but his want for something greater than a Royal Rumble defeat undermined the end result and the remainder of his time on the main roster.

Punk's philosophy of "Top Heel Versus Top Babyface" at WrestleMania had already been undone by Rock's three-year arc with John Cena, but a pitch against the then-unbeaten Undertaker at the 'Show Of Shows' felt fitting enough to justify him finally reaching the one spot in Vince McMahon's empire that had eluded him.

It never came to pass - Punk lost to 'The Deadman', but with no title on the line and no stakes beyond the obvious mountain that (yet again) wasn't his to climb.
