10 Wrestlers Daniel Bryan MUST Face In AEW
6. Malakai Black
Black’s debut on AEW has set a high bar to be topped. With speculation and discussion so rife, it’s hard to see them presenting Bryan as a similar surprise, but when that All Elite image finally drops, it’s going to shut down the Internet altogether. From there, the rest writes itself.
Danielson and Black (then Tommy End) found in Germany back in 2010, and the match, in the best possible way, goes pretty much how you’d expect. These are two intense, snug grapplers who make everything look utterly real, and perfectly sell the notion that they’re desperately trying to defeat one another.
Add in 11 years’ experience and a greater grip on both sides of the theatrical, presentational aspects of professional wrestling and you’ve got what could be a barnstorming match. Both men have since incorporated more MMA elements to their work, and with time have only gained a better handle on their respective characters.
Black deserved so much more in WWE, and will presumably have signed his AEW contract with assurances that he’s going to get the kind of matches he sorely deserves. This one needs to happen for the sake of all concerned.
