10 Wrestlers Daniel Bryan MUST Face In AEW
7. Christian Cage
Cage and Bryan have a few similarities in their careers. Both retired after repeat concussions before making it back in heartwarming fashion. Both are enormously well regarded by their peers; both spent a lot of time in WWE being severely underrated. This is reflected in their matches together thus far: a few sub-five minute clashes on WWE TV.
This doesn’t need to be a great big hate-filled encounter; it doesn’t even need to be on a major pay per view. But before these two retire for good, it would be wonderful to have two talents of their calibre and prestige come together for a great, well worked wrestling match.
In fact, to inject this with a great deal of heat would probably be to sully it. With a combined 45 plus years’ experience in the business, the respect between the two must be immense, and we want to see that reflected in the ring - a simple case of friendly (but fierce) competition by two bonafide hall of fame talents.
No wrestling career goes on forever, and Cage and Bryan must be thankful theirs has had a second wind. That’s worthy of violent celebration.
