10 Wrestlers Failed By NXT

6. CJ Parker

From hippie to hardcore environmentalist, CJ Parker’s gimmick was always going to make it hard for him. Despite wins over the likes of Xavier Woods, he was quickly positioned as a jobber-to-the-stars. Kevin Owens, Solomon Crowe and Mojo Rawley were all given wins over Parker early in their NXT careers.

While it meant he was on TV, it also led to Parker’s own push stagnating, and he eventually asked for his release in 2015. On the independents, he has since made his way out to Japan signing a contract with New Japan where among other things he challenged The Elite for the NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Championships alongside Michael Elgin and Hiroshi Tanahashi.

At only 27 years of age, CJ Parker is still young and has a lot of years left ahead of him in wrestling so there’s nothing to stop him one day returning to WWE. However, during his time in NXT, he was never truly given the chance to show what he can do and WWE’s loss may well be someone else’s gain.
