Tye Dillinger first signed for WWE in 2006 and, save for a four-year gap where he returned to the indies between 2009-13, is one of the longest-serving members of the developmental system. In that time the closest he has come to hitting the main roster was a handful of losses on the new look ECW under Teddy Long’s ‘New Superstar Initiative.’

And yet, he’s still there, and he still hasn’t been truly given the chance to show what he can do on the biggest stage. Word from every single talent that works alongside him is that he is a joy to wrestle, and that may be his problem. He’s almost too useful for a brand like NXT to let go of.

Look at those he has been paired up with since his return to WWE. Apollo Crews, Shinsuke Nakamura and Andrade ‘Cien’ Almas - all have made their debuts against the Perfect 10 and each time he’s made them look great. By being good at his job he has almost hurt his chances of receiving a proper push.

However, the Full Sail crowd continue to support him vehemently, to the extent where it may have hurt Almas’s introduction due to the crowd being on Dillinger’s side. If there’s any justice, one day it will be his chance to make a move towards the big time, and we can only cross our fingers and toes and hope it works out for him.
