3. Bull Dempsey

Bull Dempsey’s best time in NXT was when he was presented as a monster heel, crushing the likes of Mojo Rawley on his way to the top. Unfortunately, that run came to an end at the hands of Baron Corbin. After months of one-upmanship in which they would compete to see who could destroy local talent, they came face to face and Dempsey’s unbeaten streak was ended with embarrassing ease.

Following that, Dempsey went through one of the strangest character changes in NXT history. Gone was the monster and in its place was ‘Bull-Fit’, a character born out of Dempsey being a bit bigger than your average athlete.

Not only was this a bit of an insult to the man himself, it essentially pulled the rug out from underneath him. While his face turn did see some fans rally behind him, the aura of power was gone, and you sensed that Dempsey’s time in WWE was short.

Sure enough, his last appearance in NXT would be in a squash match against Samoa Joe, and when he left the company, he sold his Bull-Fit gear on Ebay.

Dempsey had all the attributes required to be a monster and yet for whatever reason that chance was taken from him. The Bull-Fit gimmick is the kind that wrestler's dread Vince McMahon handing down to them, and this was proof that NXT isn’t free from such embarrassing moments.
