10 Wrestlers Failed By NXT

2. Solomon Crowe

Perhaps more commonly known as Sami Callihan, Solomon Crowe’s debut on NXT seemed to take forever to happen. Despite signing with WWE in 2012, injuries and other goings-on meant that he wouldn’t appear on television until February 2015, when he attacked CJ Parker. In November of that year he asked for his release.

And you can see why. Callihan was well-known for his 'out there' and violent style on the indies, and yet what we got in WWE felt like a watered-down version of the real thing. A strange hacker gimmick certainly didn’t help, with the fans never being shown exactly what Solomon Crowe was all about.

Since leaving WWE, he has returned to the indies and is set to appear in season three of Lucha Underground where that inner darkness will surely be put to good use. You have to wonder if those that keep an eye on things in WWE will realise exactly what it is they missed out on and duly bring him back into the fold.
