10 Wrestlers For Whose Passion For Wrestling WWE Killed

7. Batista

The Animal is one of the most dominant superstars in the history of WWE. From joining Evolution under the tutelage of Triple H to his Hall of Fame induction, Batista has done it all. So much so, it eventually reached a point where he transcended the business and went on to try his luck in Hollywood.

However he was too big a name and had too much left to offer to never return, and his big comeback came in 2014. Sadly that is when it all went wrong. For big Dave’s return and subsequent push came at a time when the fans wanted no one other than Daniel Bryan as the top star.

The fans rejected Batista with an otherworldly level of disdain. He was booed out of the building in almost every show and eventually his world title win at WrestleMania had to be transferred to Bryan. Even then, Batista’s fortunes didn’t improve as the crowds continued to mock and ridicule him in the months that followed.

Eventually, Dave had had enough. He left WWE again following the end of the Evolution-Shield feud. Since then, he has made no secret about his displeasure toward how he was booked upon his return. It is pretty safe to say that WWE’s handling of him made the decision to not extend his stay an easy one for Dave.

At least he got his closure some five years later.

After battling Galactus and pinning Hulk Hogan in the main event of Wrestlemania, I've taken a break from living in fantasy worlds, to focus on writing about them. I'm a comic book geek, a wrestling mark, a break dancer, and a scientist. One of those things may not be true.
