Wade Barrett falls into the category of could-have-been-so-much-more wrestlers for WWE. He of course spearheaded the Nexus in one of the hottest debuts in company history and led the group as they tore through the roster before running into Big Match John’s trusty shovel.

But throughout it all and beyond, Barrett excelled in almost every department. He had the charisma, the mic skills and he could go inside the ring. Unfortunately one terrible booking decision after the other meant he was always tied to the mid-card and never got the chance to cash in on his connection with the audiences.

It all was too much for Wade to bear as he left the company when his contract expired. In recent times, he’s reflected on the final stages of his WWE run and said that while they tried to re-sign him, he simply couldn’t fathom extending his stay with WWE because he was so tired of that life.
