Bad News Brown aka Bad News Allen was a top heel and WWE title contender. During his WWE run from 1988 to 1990, Brown feuded with top WWE Superstars such as Randy Macho Man Savage, Rowdy Roddy Piper, and Jake the Snake Roberts. He occasionally had run-ins with other heels which was a rarity in WWE during that era. Brown was also very entertaining on the mic and was known for calling fans “beer belly sharecroppers”.

Brown was also a star for Stu Hart’s Stampede Wrestling and also wrestled for New Japan Pro Wrestling as well as Joe Pedicino’s Global Wrestling Federation. He was a legitimate tough guy outside the ring who wouldn’t back down to locker room enforcers such as Andre the Giant. Brown was also a legitimate athlete who won a bronze medal in judo at the 1976 Summer Olympics.

Brown was the epitome of a great 1980s WWE superstar. He was a great over-the-top character who told a good story inside the ring. Hopefully, someday soon WWE will deliver some good news and Bad News Brown will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.
