4. Peyton Royce (WWE) & Shawn Spears (AEW)

Peyton Royce met Shawn Spears/Tye Dillinger when they both wrestled for NXT, with Royce signing with WWE in 2015 and Spears re-signing in 2013. Peyton has said on meeting Spears for the first time: “Yeah, it happened pretty quickly to be honest with you – I was just drawn to him, drawn to him, yeah, straight away. I just thought he was so attractive. Man. And as well, I looked up to him, because he was so good, so anytime we got extra training in the ring and I knew he was going to be taking training, I was like, I have to be in that session. He thinks he liked me first, but I’m like, I don’t think so.”

They married in August 2019 and continuously gush about each other on Instagram.

When they were both on the main roster in WWE, Peyton was finding some success with Billie Kay as The IIconics, winning the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship at WrestleMania 35. But Spears/Dillinger was wasting away, being nothing more than an André the Giant Memorial Battle Royal participant. So in February 2019 Spears asked for his release, with it being granted, and has since signed with All Elite Wrestling where he gets far more TV time.

Spears has said regarding potential difficulties of them working for different companies:

"It makes for an interesting dynamic, yes, I agree, but at the same time, and I'm sorry if this bursts people's bubbles, it's not as awkward or odd, or difficult as people would hope that it would be. We still have a great deal of time together. Most businesses in the world are going through the same thing with the pandemic, so we have a lot of time together, but at the same time it boils down to we both love professional wrestling. She loves what she does, I love what I do, she bounces ideas off me, and I bounce ideas off her. We have a school, we go and wrestle with each other. I treat them all the same man. We're husband and wife first and everything else falls underneath that."
