10 Wrestlers Who Left WWE Due To Injuries

2. Bret Hart

A super kick from Goldberg gave Bret Hart a severe concussion and ended his glittering career. Having had this severity of the concussion confirmed, Hart later speculated that he may have suffered up to three additional concussions during matches over the course of Starrcade. The total of these injuries left Hart with post-concussion syndrome and ultimately forced his retirement from professional wrestling. Hart, who was understandably angry with Goldberg, wrote a Calgary Sun column in which he said that Bill "had a tendency to injure everyone he worked with." Hart's knees also gave him cause for concern. He had gone through multiple knee surgeries throughout his career and still has issues with his knees today. He underwent knee replacement surgery in 2013 after a number of surgeries never got him back to full fitness. Hart also suffered a stroke shortly after his in-ring retirement while riding his bike in Calgary. Bret did return to the WWE ring in 2010 but was unable to hit the heights of his previous tenure in the company.
