10 Wrestlers Who Left WWE Due To Injuries

3. Edge

Like Mick Foley in this list, Edge's career came to a premature end due to an accumulation of injuries. He was a competitor that left it all in the ring and was recognised for doing this in a number of high profile matches, most notably: the TLCs, spearing Foley through a flaming table at WrestleMania XXII, taking an AA from the top of a ladder through two tables and being sent through the ring by The Undertaker. The 11-time World Champion suffered a serious neck injury that would keep him out of action for over a year in 2003 before tearing his Achilles tendon and nearly ending his career. In 2011, a series of MRIs and strength tests showed Edge had a condition called cervical spinal stenosis, meaning he could never wrestle again as he was at the risk of paralysis. He would retire less than a week after his successful World Heavyweight Championship defence against Alberto Del Rio at WrestleMania XXVII. Since retiring Edge has turned to acting and is making waves in the Syfy series Haven. He is now in a relationship with former WWE Diva Beth Phoenix. The couple have a daughter named Lyric.
