10 Wrestlers Who Nearly Died In Travelling Incidents

8. Mick Foley Loses (Part Of) His Smile

The Hardcore Legend and future WWE Hall Of Famer was once a WCW rookie called Cactus Jack with a name to make and a lot to prove. There are a lot of stories surrounding his famous injuries in the ring €“ including the time that Vader accidentally ripped his ear off in Germany €“ but one of the most famous stories was entirely fictional. For years, Foley would tell the story of how Sting had knocked out his two front teeth in a match in Raleigh, North Carolina. In fact, it was while a passenger in a friend€™s car that Cactus Jack would get the famous gap in his maniacal grin. On his way to an old pal€™s bachelor party in the back seat, when they were hit head on by a car which didn€™t have its headlights on, completely destroying the vehicle that they were travelling in. Foley remained conscious, but had lost his two front teeth and badly injured his shoulder, losing a significant amount of blood from a nasty wound to his leg. His two other friends regained consciousness in the hospital. It was a miracle, given the speed of the collision and the complete lack of warning, that no one was killed. Foley would lose more teeth in the ring later on in his career, and his unfortunate toothlessness wouldn€™t prove an obstacle when he met and later married his wife, an actual honest to goodness model €“ but then Foley is God.
