10 WWE Wrestlers Who Were Never The Same After Returning From Injury
8. Candice Michelle
Candice Michelle was just another pretty face back in 2004. In a post Attitude Era WWE, Candice was one of many Divas that were trying to fit in among a new wave of fan expectations. Bra and panties matches were still happening, sexy storylines were still in play but the times were changing. The WWE audience began to grow tired of women used as filler and wanted to see them actually compete in the ring, to see them contribute more than just wardrobe malfunctions and airhead angles. However, this is what Candice excelled in and she was very good in her role. There was no reason to believe she would evolve with the times. However all of that changed in 2006 when Candice became more than just a model, she became a worker in the ring; a very good one at that. Candice shattered the mold of the Diva role she had inhabited for two years, leaving it behind in favor of relevancy as a pro wrestler. She looked very good in the ring and impressed fans on every level as she soon became the heir apparent to Trish Stratus. All of that came to a screeching halt in 2007, when Candice broker her clavicle in a match against Beth Phoenix, causing her to miss over three months from WWE. Though she returned in 2008, the same injury occurred in March of that year, putting her out of action for another five months. She came back in September but just did not look the same in the ring and was released in early 2009.
