10 Wrestlers Plagued By Their On-Screen Self

9. Natalya

Though many would expect Natalya to be on this list due to her farting gimmick, she took that storyline in her stride.

She said of her flatulence phase:-

“No matter what I’m given, I’m going to make it great […] if I’m going to [pass gas], then I’m going to look like a rockstar doing that, dressed to the nines in vintage couture and I’m going to make it gold.”

It is her current booking that has spilled over into the real world.

Natalya’s frustration was ignited by a seemingly innocuous meme from the WWE on FOX Twitter account. The “Build Your Team” game has been run into the ground with variations. It challenges you to create the best team given $15 to spend on people/characters ranked in tiers of $1, $2, $3, $4, and $5. Natalya found herself priced ready for the dollar store.

The former Divas and SmackDown Women’s Champion commented:-

“I have struggled for years to figure out exactly what my worth is, but I won’t allow anyone to pick that number for me. As hurtful as seeing this is, I wanted to be known, that if I ever find myself under all of these wonderful women it’s because I am a pillar and a foundation of what we’re doing. So please keep the $1, because anyone who knows anything, knows how Priceless I am.”

Sometimes the predetermined nature of professional wrestling leads us to believe wins and losses don’t affect the performers. Evidently, over time, it can and does.
