8. Ember Moon

Switching gears to the women, if you haven't figured out that Ember Moon is the next female face of NXT, you haven't been paying attention.

Reigning NXT Women's Champ Asuka has been dominant in the division since joining NXT in 2015. She's assembled an undefeated streak surpassing that of the legendary Goldberg. Similarly, Ember Moon had an undefeated streak of her own that came to an end at NXT TakeOver: Orlando when Asuka retained her title, albeit in controversial fashion.

Many fans thought the switch would've happened by now. Almost inarguably, Asuka's been the best female worker in all of WWE since she debuted. Based on her NXT dominance since arriving, many fans believed Asuka would drop the title to Moon in Orlando and then be called up to RAW or SmackDown immediately after WrestleMania 33 - but that never happened.

In their first NXT title bout, Moon was booked to be nearly on par with Asuka throughout, something not yet given to any female NXT superstar. It's expected that an Asuka vs. Ember Moon rematch will co-headline NXT Takeover: Brooklyn III during the weekend of SummerSlam. Whenever this rematch does take place, expect the crowning of a new champion.
