10 Wrestlers Ready To Become NXT's Top Stars

2. Aleister Black

The former Tommy End of the independent circuit recently debuted as Aleister Black at NXT Takeover: Orlando the weekend of WrestleMania 33.

An impressive performance against Andrade 'Cien' Almas followed up by a one-kick squash match that aired the following week on the 12 April 2017 episode, and Aleister Black has already cemented himself as a force to be reckoned with in NXT.

As NXT does with many of their talents, Aleister's rise will likely be built slowly. Don't expect Black to capture the NXT Championship by the next TakeOver event. The slow-burn technique of gradually building a main event superstar is something Triple H has shown to understand and appreciate. Aleister Black would appear to be the next NXT superstar to receive such strategic booking.

Black isn't particularly tall, nor is he a heavyweight (he's billed at 205 lbs.), but the NXT superstar isn't likely being built for the Cruiserweight division. Like Neville, Black would surely stand out on 205 Live, but Triple H probably has bigger plans for Aleister that he hopes will translate to the main roster.

A top spot in NXT for the next 18 months or so is a good first step.
