It wasn't 'merely' security that escorted Buff Bagwell out of Springfield, Illinois' Prairie Capital Convention Center back in 2000, for Buff the Stuff was removed from the building by police.

This all took place during a WCW Thunder taping, with Bagwell taken away by the law on charges of battery after allegedly punching a WCW employee that night. That employee was Darrell Miller, who was carrying props backstage when he had an altercation with Buff.

Miller and a co-worker were carrying a bloodstained piece of carpet that was a part of the Thunder taping, and their exit door was blocked by a group of WCW talent. After being verbally berated by Bagwell, Darrell was then punched in the side of the neck by the five-time WCW Tag Team Champion.

The police were called to this situation, and Buff was removed from the venue and was made to pay $100 bail before returning to the Prairie Capital Convention Center later that night.

Bagwell admitted that he'd struck Miller "upside the neck" because Darrell was working for WCW and so shouldn't have been so "pushy". For WCW's part, they suspended Buff for 30 days to work on his Stuff.
