10 Wrestlers Set For A Big Push Following WrestleMania 33

5. Kevin Owens

Kevin Owens’ reign as Universal Champion did nothing but drag him down. Sadly, KO was portrayed as a weak, cowardly title-holder throughout his run, and his eventual loss to Bill Goldberg felt merciful more than anything else. Becoming champ should have propelled him to new heights, but instead neutered Owens, and left him a shadow of his former self.

Fortunately, it looks like KO has moved back towards the “Prizefighter” gimmick whih made him successful in the first place. He has been nothing short of ruthless since turning on Chris Jericho, and after defeating his former best friend at WrestleMania 33, he has re-established himself as one of Raw’s top heels. Owens’ rehabilitation is well underway, and if the past week is anything to go by, it’s only set to accelerate.

He and Samoa Joe lost to Finn Bálor and Seth Rollins on Raw, but KO should soon find himself back in the wins column. As United States Champion, he has a fantastic opportunity to rebuild a division that has largely been forgotten about for the past six months. Expect WWE to do this by reversing the belt’s recent trend, and feeding Owens quality challenger after quality challenger.
