10 Wrestlers That Lied To Get What They Wanted

2. Kevin Nash Tells WCW He’s Quitting Wrestling

'Hey Ole, I've had enough of wrestling and want to bounce clubs'.

That's likely what Kevin Nash told Ole Anderson before departing WCW in 1993. The then-Vinnie Vegas was hardly a major star anyway, so Ole was probs happy to get him off the wage bill, but it was a ruse. Nash was actually in secret talks with the WWF to come in as Shawn Michaels' bodyguard Diesel.

Ole didn't suspect a thing. Despite hardly being Sting or Ric Flair level, Kev knew the booker wouldn't let him out of his contract if he smelled a WWF jump coming. That's why he decided to "leave the business", or at least spin that story face-to-face before showing up on WWF screens.

Approx three years later, Nash returned to WCW on a huge contract and definitely was one of the promotion's biggest star names. Let's just say this particular lie worked out well for him, the WWF and (longer-term) WCW.
