10 Wrestlers That Lied To Get What They Wanted

3. Ric Flair Will “Never Wrestle Again”

Ric Flair would readily admit that he's addicted to the wrestling spotlight. The 'Nature Boy' craves one more hit of sweet, sweet attention, so much so that the 73 year old pulled the boots on for his "Last Match" just this year.

It remains to be seen if he'll stick to that "Last Match" claim this time, because he sure didn't back in 2008 when WWE lavished the retirement treatment on him. Back then, Flair promised everyone he'd "never wrestle again". That, as it turned out, was a bold-faced lie.

Ric was working shots vs. Hulk Hogan on a 'Hulkamania' tour by '09. Then, he took himself to TNA and sold them on the idea of a few more matches. This was all about getting Flair his pro wrestling spotlight fix - even diminishing returns couldn't stop him from hauling ass back inside the ring for increasingly-poor matches.

At least the legend went out on a high note at Starrcast (uncomfortable to watch though it was).
