Abyss has recently made the transition from working under a mask to doing so with a painted face, and the benefit is clear for all to see. The masked madman gimmick was long out of date, and working as part of The Decay has given 'The Monster' something of a new lease of life in TNA.

It was his brief run as Joseph Park that was arguably hist most entertaining however. After being masked for an age, Park was a true breath of fresh air. What was most surprising about it however was just how glorious his facial expressions were. It seemed somewhat criminal that we had been robbed of them for so long by the mask.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
