10 Wrestlers Triple H Couldn't Get Over

Before Rusev, and after Nikolai Volkoff, there was Kozlov as the evil Eastern European heel in WWE.

After racking up a series of victories against WWE’s undercard, he set his sights towards Jeff Hardy, Triple H and the WWE Championship. It was a bad mix. Hardy’s high flying style, Hunter’s methodical pace and Kozlov’s inability to wrestle created a lackluster feud that culminated at Survivor Series 2008. Jeff, though, was attacked before the match, so Edge was inserted. But he didn’t get involved until 10 minutes in...so we got a slow, plodding bout of just Hunter and Kozlov.

That was pretty much it for Kozlov’s big push. The following month, he opened up the show at Armageddon against Matt Hardy, while Hunter went into a triple threat main event against Jeff and Edge.

Kozlov just didn’t have anything special enough to make him a main event player, and it really only took one match with Hunter for the company to figure it out.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
