10 Wrestlers Triple H Will Make Champion
7. Mustafa Ali
Ali has had a pretty rough few years in WWE with what could be generously called “stop and start booking”. Although, in truth, it never really got started.
The “SmackDown hacker” gimmick that never went anywhere, the short-lived wet fart that was Retribution and a storyline with Mansoor that was brief and ended in yet more losses next to his name. It’s no surprise that Mustafa Ali requested his release earlier this year, but it’s also not surprising that Vince denied it knowing he was a valuable commodity to literally anyone else.
Whilst Ali has never worked under the NXT brand like many of this list, coming through the Cruiserweight Classic tournament and 205 Live was sure to put him in contact with men like Triple H.
If nothing else, the new head of creative has vowed to “listen to the fans”. This may well be an empty promise or in fact prove to be more difficult than anticipated, but there is a backlog of admiration and desire from the WWE universe to see Ali succeed. In a company that could always do with new babyfaces, especially those with charisma, Mustafa Ali has oodles of untapped potential.
If nothing else, having been with the company for eight years and never won a single title, there’s a huge moment just waiting to happen right there.
