10 Wrestlers Who Went Back To WWE After Failing To Become An Actor

8. André The Giant

Prominent works: The Princess Bride André was one of the first of the wrestlers come actors and his performance in The Princess Bride marks one of the rare appearances of a wrestler in a mainstream film whose performance was well-received and the film itself a critical and commercial success. Whilst not his only role, it was, perhaps wisely, one of a select few. André's size and look obviously limiting his role to that of giants, André followed up his success in The Princess Bride with a return to the squared circle, competing the same year of it's release (1987) against Hulk Hogan in a little-known bout at Wrestlemania III. It might have been tempting for André to look to follow his success in The Princess Bride with a full-time switch to acting that would've inevitably dwindled rapidly. As it was, he made the right choice in returning to the avenue which gave him his fame to begin with. A company whose modern day success, a successor to their historic success which, in turn, is directly connected with the success of André himself. Sometimes, it's just better not to leave home.
