10 Wrestlers Who've Suffered Most From The WWE Brand Split
4. Karl Anderson & Luke Gallows
Draft night saw The Club split and go their separate ways: AJ Styles went to SmackDown, while Karl Anderson & Luke Gallows shuffled-off to Raw. The optimistic viewpoint was that Anderson & Gallows were little more than Styles’ henchmen, and that without AJ’s feuds as a distraction, they’d prosper as Raw’s prime heel tag team. Pessimists, however, would tell you that The Club were onto a good thing together, and that their split would benefit nobody, even Styles, who was still finding his feet as a heel.
While Styles has excelled, Anderson & Gallows’ demise has been as laughable as it is sad. Yes, they were playing second-fiddle to AJ before, but they were still put forward as a credible threat. Alongside Styles, Anderson & Gallows were the no-nonsense set of dangerous bruisers they’d always been: they weren’t making waves in the tag division, but they felt relatively important, and that’s more than you can say for them at the moment.
Anderson & Gallows have become a joke. On their own, they’ve been morphed into an atrocious comedy act who’ve apparently forgotten how to wrestle. “The Club” gave them a sense of purpose, but their feud with The New Day has been dreadful, and while they’re still involved in the WWE Tag Team Title scene, their interest levels have never been lower.
